The Good Relatives Collaborative is pleased to announce the first opening of grants under the new grant portal at www.goodrelativescollaborative.org  for Native-led non-profits in the States of North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota.

The Good Relatives Collaborative was selected as a partner by the Bush Foundation in 2022 to design and operate a community-based grant program serving the Native nations and urban Tribal communities across the region. The Good Relatives Collaborative is made up of Sacred Pipe Resource Center (ND), Black Hills Community Loan Fund (SD), Four Bands Community Fund (SD) and the Minnesota Indigenous Business Alliance (MN).

The program reflects the Bush Foundation’s purpose to develop, test and spread ideas that make the region better for everyone and to inspire, equip and connect leaders to more effectively lead equitable change. The Good Relatives Collaborative grants were designed to accomplish this through supporting traditional Tribal values of cooperation, working together, healing, and creating positive change in Tribal communities. The grants are intended to help Native-led non-profits build capacity through the growth lifecycle and are targeted to exploring organization (smaller organizations), emerging organizations (organizations just starting), growing (organizations moving to next level), and maturing (well-established organizations). The granting process will use grant coaches, collaborative grant reviewer training, and a mentorship process to help organizations connect and support each other.
